Objective/Context: The article describes the role of Colombia inthe Korean War between 1951-1954, proposing an analysis that links the context of the Cold War in Latin America, the violence in Colombia, and the features of the Korean conflict. Methodology: Based on new historiography of the Cold War and the concept of global history, the text exposes an analysis of primary and secondary sources to identify synchronicities between Internal Policies, the international context and the practices of military and political Colombian elites to participate in the Korean conflict. Conclusion: The text describes how political and military elites in the middle of the twenty century in Colombia understood the context of global polarization in the postwar and how in the middle of an economic, military and diplomatic dependency, justified the presence of more than 5 thousand people in the field of combat in Korea. Originality: The approach from this perspective let us understand some global and local interdependencies in the country in the fifty’ decades.
