Abstract : How do student motorcyclists and their parents manage the risk of accidents in order to guarantee the safety of the first nommed on the roads of Korhogo? Attempting to answer this research question, this article has shown that students drive vehicles that often do not meet road safety standards while ignoring the highway code. For them, the traffic accidents to which they are exposed have causes as diverse as they are varied. In order to control these risks, they say they rely on their knowledge of the motorcycle and their caution. They can also count on their family, which is involved by participating in their training, in the maintenance of the machines, by giving advice and by ensuring their protection, in particular through magico-religious practices. In the end, their perception of risk leads parents and children to trivialize the rules of the road and safety equipment and to favor a form of collegial risk management. These observations are the result of a qualitative study conducted in Korhogo with 50 respondents made up of student motorcyclists and their parents.
