Histoire d’un film en train de se faire – les relents de la dictature argentine dans l’expérience cinématographique de Marco Bechis (1976-1999)

Abstract

Based on our own interviews with the director Marco Bechis and the reading of his private archives, this article tries to historicize the creative process of Garage Olimpo (1999), which relates his experience in illegal confinement during the Last Argentine Dictatorship (1976-1983). We attempt to understand how the film creation transforms the relationship between the surviving filmmaker and his traumatic past.
