Coverage of Legal Issues in the Publishing Activity of Libraries

Abstract

The article deals with legal issues in the publishing activity of libraries, in particular, the National Law Library of the National Library of Ukraine Vernadsky, National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine and other regional scientific library. The legal activity of the libraries’ Center of Legal Information and Libraries’ points of access for citizens is cha-racterized. Legal Information Centers of regional scientific libraries help to get free legal advice, in particular to ATO fighters, prepare exhibitions of literature on law, and also help users to select legal literature they need. Points of access of citizens satisfy any visitors’ inquiries about the legislative process of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada and local authorities. The main objectives of public access points are searching, access to information about the activities of government, providing of consultation. The basic directions of activity of legal topics of regional network of scientific libraries are defined.
