During the last few years policy makers in almost all developing countries have been greatly concerned about improving the country's cost competitive position, as price competitiveness has been considered to be a main factor of development in export oriented industries. Variation of relative prices is only one of the determinants of export market shares; however, he overall delay in the response is decomposed into various elements: recognition lag, decision lag, delivery lag, replacement lag and production lag.
