The school history curriculum and textbooks have not kept pace with historical research. This can be checked by analyzing who is selected to star in the facts and historical processes. Neither the curriculum or teaching manuals or history textbooks is given the importance it should to women, children, members of any minority, the poor, homosexuals, those individuals and groups that do not belong to the elite and the minority leader. We present some thoughts on the players, on the actors of history from historiography and from the teaching of history and analyze their treatment in history textbooks of Chilean primary education.
