MATURRAS CAVE (CIUDAD REAL, SPAIN): THE ROLE OF FIRE IN A 3rd MILLENIUM BC FUNERARY CONTEXT
Abstract
Fieldwork at Maturras Cave has brought to light a collective burial attached to the 3rd millennium BC with charred wood remains. In this paper we present the results of the analysis of an associated charcoal record, providing information on the ongoing debate on the interpretation of the role of fire in Final Neolithic and early Chalcolithic funerary contexts.
