A thermodynamic analysis of phase transformations occurring during heat treatment of the alloy Fe-Cr-Ni-C, which is the basis of steel AISI 321, is carried out. The results of the analysis of the elemental and phase composition, the defect substructure of stainless steel caused by the irradiation with a high-intensity pulsed electron beam are presented.
