Posterior approach unilateral laminectomy, debridement, and preshaped titanium mesh bone grafting with internal fixation for treatment of lumbar tuberculosis
Abstract
Abstract Comparison of the efficacy of unilateral laminectomy, debridement, and fusion with preshaped titanium mesh (ULT) with bilateral laminectomy, debridement, and fusion with preshaped titanium mesh (BLT) for the treatment of single-segment lumbar tuberculosis. A total of 65 patients with lumbar tuberculosis in our hospital from 2016 to 2020 were enrolled. Data such as operation time, blood loss, and postoperative ambulation time were recorded. Imaging data, blood test results, and neurological symptomatic score were collected before and after the operation and during follow-up. According to the different surgical methods, the patients were classified in group A and group B. The above indicators were compared between the two groups to evaluate the effect of surgical treatment. Group A patients (34) were treated with ULT surgery, and group B patients (31) were treated with BLT surgery. The operation time, blood loss, blood transfusion amount and postoperative ambulation time were significantly less in group A than in group B (P 0.05). ULT procedure for single segment lumbar tuberculosis can not only meet the requirements of removing lesions and stabilizing bone graft fusion but also reduce trauma and accelerate recovery after surgery. Retrospective study.
