The Category Apparatus of Modern Kalmyk Syntax and Semantics in Light of Functional Theory
Abstract
The article deals with the overall strategy of research in this area of Mongolistics as a transition from the general theoretical understanding of syntactic and semantic categories to their specifi c functional description on the material of modern Kalmyk language in comparison with other languages of the Mongolian group and, more broadly, of the Altai family, as well as with data of the Russian language as a language of different typology and as a language of description. This study opens up prospects for further, more detailed analysis of issues associated with the syntax and semantics of the utterance.
