DISCOURSE ANALYSIS AS A POSTMODERN RESEARCH METHOD

Abstract

In this study, discourse analysis as an applied linguistics area and a qualitative research method is rapidly evolving area from the second half of the twentieth century in global scientific literature is introduced and commonly used three applications of the method will be described. Current or alternative methods, such as discourse analysis will increase the diversity of the scientific methods in the scientific environments. Using a different or new method in research would give researchers opportunities of by making studies more holistic, looking from multi perspective lenses, offering the possibility of different interpretations and more creativity.
