TRADITIONAL AND INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO THE ASSESSMENT OF EDUCATIONAL RESULTS IN FRENCH SCHOOLS
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of improving the assessment system according to the social needs in a specific period of time. Purpose. The main purpose of the paper is to analyze the scientific literature on various approaches to the assessment of educational results in France. The authors also compare the views on assessment presented in the works of famous French teachers, psychologists and educational figures. Methodology. Theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature of French scientists; principle of consistency, structuredness and continuity. Results. The results of the work are as follows: having analyzed the data, the authors make a conclusion that schoolchildren’s assessment according to their competences eliminates selectivity and reflects their achievements more accurately. The best approach could be a combination of traditional and innovative assessment methods. Practical implications. The data presented in the paper can be used by teachers in Russia to improve the modern assessment system that exists in the country.
