Ectopic ACTH-Dependent Cushing’s Syndrome Caused by Bronchial Carcinoid
Abstract
The article presents the concept of ectopic ACTH-secreting tumors of the neuroendocrine system. There was described a rare case of ectopic ACTH-dependent Cushing’s syndrome caused by bronchial carcinoid, in the clinical pattern of which, along with typical symptoms, thromboembolic syndrome dominated. Surgical removal of bronchial carcinoid led to regression of cushingoid and other symptoms.
