In the last 15 years the attention of the media and researchers has focused on the “new Italian emigration”, characterized by people with high human capital from Southern Italy regions. Indeed, most of the migratory flows see as protagonists people with low educational credentials inserted in industry or in the tertiary sector in roles with low qualifications in Northern Italy or Northern Europe. Our contribution focuses on a peculiar case of this seasonal proletarian migration of Sardinian girls to the Ferrero industry in Germany, at Stadtallendorf. A migration that began 60 years ago and which still retains many of its initial characteristics intact.
