This research highlights the importance of supporting and disseminating the concept of green economy as a critical step towards the sustainability of human life on this planet. The main focus of this study is to analyze the usage of plastic and the damage caused by plastic waste, as illustrated in the documentary film "Plastic Island". In this context, the research explains the concept of green economy and its relevance in reducing plastic usage. This research adopts a qualitative approach with eco-critical literary text analysis. Data were obtained through literature review and content analysis of the film "Plastic Island". Subsequently, the data were transcribed and analyzed in detail to identify scenes related to plastic usage and its negative impacts. The results of the research show that the documentary film "Plastic Island" clearly illustrates the environmental damage caused by plastic waste, including damage to agricultural land, threats to human health, and air pollution. Furthermore, the film also depicts the concept of green economy policies applied to reduce plastic usage. Thus, this research emphasizes the importance of the sustainability of human life and the environment for future generations, and highlights the significant role of the green economy concept in addressing the challenge of plastic usage. Emphasizing cross-sector cooperation and community participation in implementing green economy policies is key to achieving positive environmental change.
