Isatin-N-sulfonic acid as new, efficient and reusable catalyst for the synthesis of 2-Amido-alkyl-phenols under solvent-free conditions

Abstract

In this research, a simple and highly efficient method for the synthesis of 2-amidoalkyl phenols using isatin-N-sulfonic acid as a solid acidic catalyst has been reported. 2-Amidoalkyl phenols were prepared in high yields and short reaction times by the three component condensation reaction of phenols, various arylaldehydes and amides in the presence of isatin-N-sulfonic acid at 90 °C under solvent free conditions.
