Noise is the most significant environmental factor affecting the life quality of people. It manifests itself in various ways in living spaces of people. Diversity and level of noise in urban sections increase commonly with the needs and functions. Within this scope, traffic-induced noise constitutes a significant source of noise in living spaces. The present study considered the noise levels of E70 highway which is an extension of Black Sea Highway passing through Ordu city center in Turkey, 4 other parallel intra-city roads. Three time zones were taken and traffic-induced noise levels were measured over these roads. Data were used to compare the roads with regard to noise levels at different time zones of the day. It was observed that there were clear variations between E70 highway and the other roads in city center. The results pointed out that Ordu city was exposed to traffic-induced noise. This report offers the solutions to reduce level of traffic-induced noise.
