Now days, companies give their utmost effort to create competitive advantage though utilization of appropriate trainings for their sales representatives. In this case, the importance of training and development of sales personnel of companies who primarily provide products and services increases. Therefore the more effective the training methods applied, the more attainable the ultimate goals of the company shall be. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of developing skills of insurance reps on creating competitive advantage based on Resource Based View (RBV) in the Iran Insurance Company. Data collection in this research is done though descriptive empirical methods to gain Applicable goals. The findings of this research illustrates that in the view of managers and employees of Iran Insurance Company, the goals of improving sales reps’ vision, creating skills and necessary capabilities and developing special knowledge tends to create competitive advantage in the VRIN framework.
