Three Darwinist paradigm praecursors: José de Acosta (1540-1600), Athanasius Kircher (1601-1680) and Félix de Azara (1742-1821)

Abstract

In the XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries, three different naturalists, José de Acosta (1540-1600), Athanasius Kircher and Félix de Azara (1742-1821) can be considered as precursors of darwinian evolutive and biogeographical paradigm. In the present paper his life, works and philosophical reflection about the evolutive and biogeographical thinking proposals are shown here.
