The Usage of Playing in Teaching Scientific Concepts and Information in Mathematics for Fifth Grade Pupils in Jordan
Abstract
This study deals with the effect of teaching critical thinking in mathematics by using playing method and traditional teaching method for fifth grade pupils in Jordan. The study consists of the following: 1. The sample consists of 200 pupils, 100 males and 100 females, representing four sections of the fifth grade pupils. 2. The study concentrated on teaching one unit of the mathematics book. 3. The mental ability test was conducted on the pupils excluding those who got average grades. 4. T - test was used to analyze the results of the achievement test 5. The results showed significant effect due to the teaching model used and intelligence, but no significant effect was shown due to sex , gender, factor.
