The Peer Instruction is a teaching method developed, used and first presented by Eric Mazur. The core of the dynamics of this method is to have the student contact with their own conceptions and the link with the phenomenological conceptions, as accepted by the scientific community. This method can be used in any classroom in proper adaptation to the original method, as presented by Mazur. In Brazil there are few reports of use of this method, however, the existing point to positive results. As a result more important is to show that simple procedures, can promote the improvement of the quality of teaching. It is up to the teacher to reflect on their teaching practice and about its consequences.
