El SIDA: Su repercusión en Estomatología
Abstract
Se analiza brevemente cómo repercute el SIDA en la rama de la Estomatología. Se describen las distintas manifestaciones orales que presentan los pacientes portadores de esta enfermedad, así como el papel que desempeña el estomatólogo en el diagnóstico de dichas manifestaciones para disminuir el riesgo de transmisión. Se orientaron las distintas medidas de control del SIDA en Estomatología, con el fin de evitar la propagación de dicha enfermedad entre el personal estomatológico y los pacientes que acuden a la consulta.The repercussion of AIDS on the branch of Stomatology is briefly analyzed in this paper. Different oral manifestations presented by AIDS patients as well as the role played by the stomatologist in the diagnosis of these manifestations to reduce the transmission risk are described. The different measures that can be taken in Stomatology to control AIDS are explained in order to prevent the spreading of this disease among the stomatological personnel and the patients receiving attention at the dental clinic.
