Memoirs as a component of electronic resources of national libraries of Ukraine: experience and prospects
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze the nature and features of the representation of memoir narratives in the full-text electronic libraries (EB) - V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, Yaroslav Mudryi National Library of Ukraine, National Historical Library of Ukraine; comprehension of achieved and identification of unsolved problems of presentation of memoir texts in them. The research methodology is based on the complex application of historical science and social communication tools: general scientific methods of analysis/discourse analysis/content analysis and synthesis, generalization, explanation, systematization and classification, and empirical methods of description and comparison. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the purposeful focus of attention on the problematic forms and methods of representation of memoir narratives in the electronic libraries of V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, Yaroslav Mudryi National Library of Ukraine, National Historical Library of Ukraine, their communicative potential in the modern national information space. Conclusions. A detailed analysis of the EB of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, Yaroslav Mudryi National Library of Ukraine and National Historical Library of Ukraine gave grounds to assert that they have accumulated basic experience in the creation and functioning of full-text EBs, to highlight the specifics of the methodological foundations of the construction of individual EBs, their structure; to determine the peculiarities of the representation of memoir texts in them, to find out the search possibilities and informational and communicative potential. The specified information will allow you to determine the next steps for the productive implementation of memoir narratives in the information space of Ukraine and the global world network.
