Notification of compulsory diseases and of the injuries in a university hospital of Minas Gerais, Brazil

Doi: 10.5902/2179769210676Aim: this study aimed to analyze the compulsory notification of diseases and illnesses recorded in a university hospital in northern Minas Gerais. Method: this is a descriptive, document, cross-sectional study. The survey was conducted in a university hospital north miner whose data comprised the period January/2011 to December/2012. The data were analyzed using descriptive epidemiology and calculated frequency distribution using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 18.0 for Windows for Windows. Results: were recorded a total of 38.792 notifications, and the University Hospital in the study institution that had the largest number of cases (n=7.402) compared to other state hospitals that participate in the subsystem. Grievances with higher frequencies of notifications were captured envenomations, attendance anti-rábicos, violence, intoxication exogenous dengue and viral hepatitis. Conclusion: the study allowed the knowledge of the epidemiological situation in their areas of occurrence.
