Kalmyk Institute for Humanitarian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences: History and Modernity

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the description of the establishment and development of academic science in the Republic of Kalmykia on the example of the Kalmyk Institute for Humanitarian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, founded in 1941. There were revealed three stages of the academic system, which include the establishment of academic science in the republic, the formation and development of science, the transformation of science in the transition period. The author analyzes the publishing and communicative activity of the institute.
