Per un'edizione della «Paternostre» di Maestro Silvestre
Abstract
L’obiettivo di questo articolo è illustrare alcuni elementi emersi durante la stesura dell’edizione critica della Paternostre di Silvestre, autore attivo alla corte di Ida di Boulogne nell’ultimo quarto del secolo XII. Il testo, un lungo sermon in couplets d’octosyllabes à rimes plates, si inserisce nel panorama delle parafrasi e dei commenti al Pater noster. L’analisi testuale dell’opera ha consentito di rilevare, nelle attestazioni seriori, la presenza di “aggiornamenti” in chiave francescana e borghese, testimoni del successo che la Paternostre sembra aver avuto anche al di fuori dell’ambiente benedettino per la quale era stata concepita. The article aims to present some elements revealed during the study of the Paternostre, a sermon written by Silvestre, a writer who lived in the court of Ide de Boulogne in the last quarter of the XII century. The text is written in couplets d’octosyllabes à rimes plates and it fits into the panorama of Pater noster paraphrases and comments. In the latest manuscripts Franciscan and bourgeois revision witness the success that Paternostre might have had even outside the Benedectine environment for which it was conceived.
