Object and purpose of research. This paper studies marine radiation monitoring in order to assess Krylov State Research Centre (KSRC) achievements in this field. Materials and methods. This paper analyses the prospects of instrumentation systems as radiation monitoring tools. Main results. KSRC achievements in marine radiation monitoring have been assessed. Conclusion. KSRC activities in marine radiation monitoring, as well as development corresponding techniques and hardware, have considerably facilitated the task of water area reclamation. The experience of applying high-tech equipment and techniques accumulated over several decades could be useful in solving totally new tasks of Arctic developments, as well as in aftermath mitigation of various disasters.
