The use of places in a film is geography! The film is structured by the space which constitutes the spatial framework where the action takes place. It is script-organized according to the use made of them. The place as a portion of territory where a film production places its cameras, offers spectators an immersion in spaces between reality and fiction which contributes to the cinematographic experience. Jean-Paul Belmondo's cinema can lend itself to this exercise of reporting on the use of places in his films. These feature films have helped establish the star status of a key player in French cinema and culture, conveying the image of popular and mainstream cinema. The decryption of his films proposes to analyze the reciprocity between places which participate in a filmic construction and films which in turn participate in shaping places of cinematographic inspiration.
