El Centro Cultural Gabriel García Márquez
Abstract
Through an analysis of characteristics that are present in certain architectural works form different places in the world and times in history, and also other works by Rogelio Salmona, this article describes the formal features, spatial dimensions, and materials used in the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Centre, designed by the same architect. The centre is located Bogota’s historic quarter and the construction of this building enters into dialogue with its urban environment and historical context. The result is a work that subtly invites a journey around its spaces, the experimentation of sensations, and its respectful contemplation.
