LAND TAKE AND URBAN SPRAWL: DRIVERS E CONTRASTING POLICIES
Abstract
Starting from a reading of the processes of urbanization, the present paper deals with the question of the fundamental drivers of «land take» and attempts to describe and interpret critically the ways in which the phenomenon is structured in Italy. Then, through a reviewing of actions and policies designed and implemented at the European level and the national level, some critical issues considered of particular importance for the containment of urban sprawl and land take are analyzed.
