Ubiquity and Mobility: Perceptions on the Ubiquity of Connections through Internet of Things
Abstract
Provided from the new digital technologies, the technological mobility changes the relationship between people, places and objects, broadening the information flows between them through mobile devices, making the spaces smart through the creation and distribution of content without geographical barriers. This scenario portraits a ubiquity of connections, and is the connection that allows the autonomy of individuals as content producers and distributors. This paper seeks to trace the context of the ubiquity of connections as a key factor in the development of ‘internet of things’ and the concept of ‘little data’ through the observation of the mobile application of traffic and navigation Waze in order to demonstrate the influence of the ubiquity of connections in everyday life, concept that expands due to the increase of infocommunicational devices on the individual’s daily life.
