Mutualism, a disputed experience. The case of the Austro-Hungarian Mutual Aid Society and the Mihanovich navigation company (Buenos Aires, 1878-1920)
Abstract
This work historically analyzes the experience of the Austro-Hungarian Mutual Aid Society, created in 1878, up to the postwar years in light of its uniqueness in the world of port and maritime work in Buenos Aires and its particular and close relationship with the Mihanovich company, which became the largest shipping company in the south of the continent in that period. The focus is on the mutual experience, its weighting from the social history of the world of work, and its complex and changing relationship with company policy.
