This study illustrates the reactions of two adolescent populations, sampled in France and Italy, face the rise of cultural and religious pluralism. Regarding the issues on the immigration, the differences between these two countries are related to the unequalled length of the phenomenon and the conception of the diversity in the public space. The hypotheses of this study consider the differences in the context as main sources of variation of stereotypes and attitudes towards immigration. Taking into account contextual variables, helps explain why young Italians express a social and economic prejudice, while the young French show forms of hostility based on identity issues. In conclusion, we hypothesized that the conflicting attitudes of adolescents toward the questions posed by immigration are a reflection of the social condition that marks today's younger generations.
