The paper analyses the influence of sociocultural factors, such as living in the conditions of an orphanage and a family of origin, over higher mental functions development in primary school pupils. It is established that the orphanage conditions have a negative impact on functions formation marked with a prolonged period of development in ontogenesis. In particular, it involves the functions of programming and volitional action regulation as well as the functions of the left hemisphere. It appears there is some irregularity of higher mental functions maturity in all of the observed primary school pupils.
