Lattice Theory emerged in the con[text of 1930s American mathematics. In 1940, it became materialized in the form of a monograph which enabled it to be disseminated. In the last chapter of the second volume of La Philosophie de l’algèbre, Jules Vuillemin presents it as a « general algebra » the aim of which is the logical study of scientific theories. The article focuses on this circulation of Lattice Theory which will be studied from two perspectives. Firstly, the theory was disseminated by a treatise and thus has a specific form that will be detailed. Secondly, Vuillemin’s opinions are coloured by his own interests which are studied.
