Abstract

The film La Balia/ The Nanny (1999) allows us to reflect on the historical significance of the figure of the wet nurses in the period between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. A standardized set the time and allowed for some women donors have a key role in the maintenance of their families, and the other allowed the survival of children through breast feeding.
