Multinational ship crew and shipping staff: Interactive managing
Abstract
During last few decades, technical progress, globalization and trade liberalization, accompanied by diversification of shipping activities and continuous growth in suborn trade and maritime transport, lead to free flow of information, technology and work force across national borders. From the social point of view, actual trend in the shipping domain means working in multi-cultural crews, in international shipping companies, into a dynamic, complex and specific working environment. Managing human factor in this environment means much more the human resource management. It includes interaction of human factor with groups, organization, technology and work practice, as well as their integration into a shipping society which is working, learning and social at the same time. Cited may cause many issues related to identity and communication problems, which are relevant to maritime efficiency and safety. Some answers are exploring in the paper.
