This text questions practices of a novice activity coordinator. We analyze the practice of gaming and words of a novice facilitator involved in extracurricular activity time in the framework of the implementation of the school rhythm reform. Based on a clinical didactic approach to play practices, we describe his playful and didactic activity and his subjective positioning in youth work, thus identifying his relationship to the game and his relationship to the Other. We then show how the position of animator is a subjective construction, at the heart of internal tensions between the “I”, the “we” and the “Other”, which questions the weight of the already there decision in his gaming practices.
