PARCELLATED COMMUNICATES AS MARKERS OF VERBALIZATION OF THE SPEAKER’S INTENTIONS AND EXPRESSIVENESS OF A FICTION TEXT
Abstract
The article analyzes the communicative-intentional message, functionality, and punctuation-intonational features of parcellated communicates in a fiction text, and states in particular that parcellated constructions are relevant syntactic means of verbalization the speaker’s intentions aimed at actualizing the semantic center of the utterance, highlighting its intentional dominant, expanding and deepening information, expressing the author’s individual vision of the world and emotion-axiological parameters of text communication. It is postulated that the segmentation of the single syntactic structure of the sentence into separate syntagmas is due to the author’s intention and serves as a stylistically motivated means of formulation of thought, since parceling is used to vividly express the emotional power of the utterance and to violate conventional intonational-syntagmatic models for a particular purpose. Functional potential of parcellated communicates is manifested in the relevant verbalization of the speaker’s intentional space at the segmentation level of the main members of the sentence and its distributors, predicative units – discourse statements in simple and complex sentences that deepen and expand information, emphasize the speaker’s intention message actualizing the semantics of cause, purpose, place, time etc. At the text level, paragraph parcellation is observed as a comprehensive representation of the speaker’s intentions realized in superphrasal unities, separate paragraphs, which is generally in line with the communicative idea of the author of a fiction text. With the use of a number of linguistic methods (for example, descriptive and contextual interpretation methods, methods of transformation analysis), it is established factually that functioning of parcellated communicates is connected with the pragmatic competence of the speaker-author, his/her ability to use transformative implications of conventional syntactic structures to create expressiveness and dynamism of a fiction text.
