Abstract

The Tamil language is a symbol of the entire Tamil society, embodying centuries of literary tradition and various literary forms. Historians have indeed acknowledged that Tamilians have long excelled in civilizations. World-renowned Tamilians excelled not only in civilized life but also in various fields such as religion, philosophy, astronomy, physics, biology, astrology, medicine, mathematics and engineering. During the Tamil language era, Tamilians have grown up acquiring many worldly concepts without any technological advancement. Thiruvalluvar has mentioned that knowledge is a tool to protect. Science is the subtle blooming in the formation of knowledge. Tamil arts and science focus on the inner and outer lives of human beings. Life is an indistinguishable duality. Therefore, life without art is not complete and life without science is not successful. Ancient Tamilians embodied many scientific facts in literature. The Tamil language has played an important role in the history of world languages since ancient times. As a Professor, Dr. N. Subbu Reddiar, a Tamil scholar, has established his scientific knowledge through pieces of evidence in literature such as ‘EttuThogai’, ‘PathuPattu’, ‘Thirukkural’, ‘Puranangal’ and ‘Epics’. His Tamil expertise explores the scientific thinking of Tamilians on world origin referring to the ‘Paripadal song’. He beautifully and emphatically articulated the ideology of enriching the goals of human biology into personal life and social life. Thus, the purpose of this article is to explore the meaning of Tamil literature from the scientific point of view of Professor N. Subbu Reddiar.
