The article revolves around the revitalization of Medan Merdeka Square (MMS) in Medan, Indonesia, an important study of the city's early history that has never been researched before. MMS, essentially is a historic inner-city area, symbolizing the early growth of the city and the parallel development with the success of plantations since 1863. Today, through an adaptive revitalization approach, the integration of existing heritage with modern elements creates Merdeka Walk, an effort to enhance the quality of the physical and non-physical environment, creates a livable city, attracts investment, stimulates the economy, and generates employment opportunities. Merdeka Walk is a dazzling night vision, the pinnacle of achievement is a lively infrastructure for pleasure and pleasurescapes that stimulate the preservation of the urban heritage.
