La documentación histórica y la era digital. El Archivo Histórico del Cabildo Metropolitano de Zaragoza

Abstract

This paper addresses a strategic online plan, which the Research Group COMINEL, of San Jorge University, has proposed to the Metropolitan Chapter of Zaragoza with the aim of publishing their historical funds, one of Europe’s richest and most unknown archives. Methodologically we have based our research on the Case Study method in order to determine the strengths being carried out by the major Spanish Archives with 2.0 strategies, who have been digitizing their documents for decades. After confirming its functional ‘invisibility’ by means of a previous diagnosis, we establish the guidelines of a digital communication strategy which will effectively disseminate such treasures. This is based on the prior analysis of their more flagship funds -especially medieval-, a comparative study of good practice and the development of a versatile website, which will equip them with a national and international projection in the context of cultural globalization and an indispensable asset of new citizenship.
