An Introduction to the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

This introduction is intended to orient the reader of the Journal of Moral Theology special issue on artificial intelligence in several ways. First, it offers a primer on the terminology and concepts of necessary to begin to understand the field of artificial intelligence. Second, it provides a general overview of many of the ethical issues that have arisen as a result of the development of artificial intelligence. Finally, it offers an outline of the general structure of the issue that follows.
