The present article carries out an analysis of the particularities of the identity, the inter culture and the dialogue of knowledges. The study is based on the qualitative methodology and its objective is: to analyze the deep theoretical connection among these categories from a philosophical perspective exposing the theoretical bases for their explanation in the field of the pedagogy. As main results is exposed a synthesis of the main characteristics of the identity, the interculture and the dialogue of knowledges. Contradictory character of the identity is underlined, as well as the functions. The dimensions of the inter-culture, and principles on those that it is sustained. It also exposes the dialectical relationship among identity, inter-culture; the relationship of both with the dialogue of knowledges as well as the importance and the potentialities of this last one. The interdependence of the three mentioned concepts is valued.
