Abstract
Introducción: Ouriginal es un software que ayuda a detectar y prevenir el plagio con independencia del idioma. Reúne la expe-riencia combinada de Urkund y PlagScan de más de tres décadas y es confiable para cientos de empresas e instituciones educativas de todo el mundo. En el trabajo con las revistas médicas cubanas se comenzó a utilizar en el año 2021 y se orientó su empleo para todos los artículos que se procesaran a finales de año. Reciente-mente se ha denegado el acceso a esa herramienta a las revistas cubanas. Objetivo: Mostrar las experiencias de trabajo con Ouriginal en la Revista Cubana de Salud y Trabajo en los meses de agosto a diciembre de 2021. Métodos: Se creó un perfil de usuario en el sistema. Se observa-ron los procedimientos establecidos para analizar los manuscritos y detectar las coincidencias. Se creó un registro de resultados y un modelo para el análisis editorial de los reportes. Este análisis y el reporte del programa se incluyen junto al artículo en el envío para la corrección de originales. Resultados: Se procesaron 28 artículos y se analizaron 26 re-portes del programa, excluyéndose dos manuscritos devueltos por otros conceptos. Se investigaron todas las coincidencias detecta-das, con independencia del porcentaje que representaran. No se observaron similitudes que no estuvieran justificadas, ni se detectaron conductas autorales antiéticas. Conclusiones: Ouriginal constituyó una herramienta útil y eficaz en la detección de coincidencias y la prevención de posibles plagios en la publicación científica. Se debe gestionar la forma de acceder nuevamente a ese programa. Introduction: Ouriginal is software that helps detect and prevent plagiarism regardless of language. It brings together the combined experience of Urkund and PlagScan of more than three decades and is trusted by hundreds of companies and educational institutions worldwide. Regarding the work with the Cuban medi-cal journals, it began to be used in 2021, and it was ordered to be used with all the articles to be processed by the end of that year. Recently, the Cuban journals have been denied access to this tool. Objective: To show the experiences of working with Ouriginal in the Cuban Journal of Health and Labor from August to December 2021. Methods: A user profile was created in the system. The estab-lished procedures for analyzing manuscripts and identifying coincidences were observed. A log of results and a template for editorial analysis of the reports were created. This analysis and the software report are included with the article in the submission for proofreading. Results: Twenty-eight articles were processed and twenty-six software reports were analyzed, excluding two manuscripts re-turned for other reasons. All the detected coincidences were investigated, regardless of the percentage they accounted for. Unjustified similarities were not observed, nor were unethical authorial behaviors detected. Conclusions: Ouriginal was a useful and effective tool for the identification of coincidences and the prevention of possible plagiarism in scientific publication. It is necessary to find a way to access this software again.
