The Abu Amood field is an untapped resource within the Dhi Qar province, representing an undeveloped oil field with substantial potential. The Nahr Umr Formation, a key reservoir for oil production in southern Iraq, is of particular significance within this geological landscape. Despite its importance, the literature reveals a notable gap in research specific to the Nahr Umr Formation at the Abu Amood field. Addressing the lack of information about the Nahr Umr Formation in Abu Amood Field, the primary objective is to construct a 3D geological model for the Nahr Umr Formation and subsequently estimate the original hydrocarbon in place. This effort showed an average estimate of 748.49 (MMSTB) of oil. Furthermore, the formation can be categorized into five distinct units, with Unit 3 emerging as the most promising for oil production. This research fills a critical gap in the literature and provides valuable information that will help in future exploration and development strategies in the Abu Amood field.
