Carpo-metacarpal dislocation treatment
Abstract
We report the case of a young patient of 24 years, motorcyclist, victim of road accident, causing a closed trauma of the right wrist, the examination on admission finds a swollen, painful hand without vascular-nervous disorders, or compartment syndrome, the patient benefited from a radiological assessment made of an x-ray of the hand, face and profile and 3/4 objectifying an extremely rare entity of dislocation of the bones of the hand. It is a carpometacarpal dislocation of the last four rays. In the operating room under loco-regional anesthesia, and pneumatic tourniquet at the root of the limb, the patient benefited from a reduction with carpo-metacarpal plugging, supplemented by a plaster that the patient kept for 6 weeks.
