This study is an attempt to investigate the representation of some types of oppression in the pre-Islamic poetry and to indicate how oppression affected the pre-Islamic poets who lived a tough life of privation. They showed their feeling of resentment in many of their poems, which were full of sadness and bitterness. The images of oppression in the pre-Islamic poetry are multifarious and can be categorized according to the motives and feelings of the poets. They depict the sufferings of the human being who faces unbearable realities. These sufferings show how weak human beings are. Therefore, people find their dreams impossible to achieve and their wishes are portrayed out of reach.Â
