‘Vigred’ - a new domestic sweet cherry variety (Prunus avium L.)

'Vigred' is a new Slovenian sweet cherry variety, an offspring between ‘Germersdorfer’ x ‘Burlat’ crossed by Smole in 1970, introduced in 1986. Ripening occurs about one week after cv. ‘Burlat’. The tree is medium vigorous, wide spreading. Blooming in midseason. Flowers and leaves are large. The fruit is large (average weight 8.5 g), blunt shape, the skin is glossy red to brown red, very attractive and medium susceptible to cracking. Flesh is red, firm, sweet, high quality. Pedicel is medium.
