Technological resources in rural school multigrade classrooms: A systematic review
Abstract
This article aims to establish the state of the art of digital and technological resources used in teaching and learning processes in rural schools. These should promote digital transformation and an inclusive, flexible, cooperative and open educational model. Their use should contribute to improving multigrade didactics and reducing the digital divide. A systematic international review was carried out of articles published over the last ten years in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Out of a total of 671 papers identified in the field of rural education, those referring to digital resources were analysed on the basis of selection criteria (N=18). The first results show the need to create resources that allow multi-grade and online work, developing the digital competence of students, taking into account the idiosyncrasies of rural schools. Also the creation of teacher support networks, sharing resources and improving ongoing training in emerging technologies for educational innovation. The conclusions refer to opportunities related to the use of open educational resources and crowdsourcing platforms.
